Daily Bible Podcast Day 362 – Revelation 5-9

Scripture:
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” ~Revelation 7:9

Observation:
These are the believers killed in the great tribulation. They come from every people group, meaning that at the time this happens, there are Christians from every tribe and nation on earth.

Application:
I want to do my part to bring others to Christ. I’ll probably never reach a whole country, but I can reach some people.

Prayer:
Father, help me to reach those that I supposed to be reaching in my town. Perhaps I will never reach thousands, but I do want to be faithful in what you’ve called me to. Enlarge my leadership as I do my best to reach others.

Daily Bible Podcast Day 247 – Ezekiel 22-24, Revelation 9

Scripture:
“The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.” ~Revelation 9:20-21

Observation:
The people on earth, even after supernatural signs and punishment from God, still do not turn from their sin. They seem to us as incredibly hard-headed.

Application:
I’m hard-headed too. Perhaps the “signs” I see aren’t as obvious as the ones shown in Revelation, but I also can read about the signs of previous times as well as the ones to come. They all point to repentance if only I’ll pay attention to them.

Prayer:
Father, I repent again. Help me turn from those things that continue to separate me from the life that You want me to live and the reward that You have for my faithfulness. May I not miss the signs and go on being hard-headed.

Daily Bible Podcast Day 246 – Ezekiel 20-21, Psalm 111, Revelation 8

Scripture:
“Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness endures forever.” ~Psalm 111:2-3

Observation:
This Psalm is one of Praise to God for His deeds and attributes. People who delight in the works of the Lord spend time thinking about them.

Application:
How often do I just reflect on the attributes and deeds of God? How often do I think of His creation, or His mercy, or His salvation, or His majesty?

Prayer:
Father, I probably don’t think about You enough. My daily life and even the earth itself are filled with what should be daily reminders of how great and merciful You are. Through Your Spirit, help me to be more mindful of Your hand in the world and to reflect on You when I see it. I will praise You for Your mighty acts and awesome love.
