Daily Bible Podcast Day 362 – Revelation 5-9

Scripture:
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” ~Revelation 7:9

Observation:
These are the believers killed in the great tribulation. They come from every people group, meaning that at the time this happens, there are Christians from every tribe and nation on earth.

Application:
I want to do my part to bring others to Christ. I’ll probably never reach a whole country, but I can reach some people.

Prayer:
Father, help me to reach those that I supposed to be reaching in my town. Perhaps I will never reach thousands, but I do want to be faithful in what you’ve called me to. Enlarge my leadership as I do my best to reach others.

Daily Bible Podcast Day 245 – Ezekiel 17-19, Revelation 7

Scripture:
“‘Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’” ~Revelation 7:16-17

Observation:
The elder speaking here is referring to those who have come out the great tribulation, but the rewards mentioned are mentioned elsewhere as belonging to all believers.

Application:
A day will come when all the disappointment, longing, trials, sadness, evil and struggle of this world will be gone and replaced with the perfect fulfillment and peace of God.

Prayer:
Father, life is sometimes a lot to bear. Sadness and trouble are too common and joy and peace too rare. Give me the peace of Your Spirit while I am here on Earth and I pray for perseverance to endure the trials that I will have to. I look forward to the perfect, eternal joy and peace that I’ll someday find in Your presence.
