Scripture:
“In that day you will say:

‘Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.
Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.'” ~Isaiah 12:4-6

Observation:
The song is given as one for Israel’s deliverance from their foreign oppressors, but it applies just as equally to us.

Application:
Part of the reason that we sing songs of praise is that God has done truly great things on our behalf. Even setting aside the incredible majesty of creation, God has sent His son as an atoning sacrifice on our behalf. God’s incredible works should truly inspire us to vigorous worship.

Prayer:
Father, in a sense I get paid to worship You and help others worship You. Help me to not only remember the amazing things You have done, but also communicate to others how truly awesome the work of Your hand is. Right now the church I am serving is having some challenges. I know that Your will is to see those who are far from You back in Your family. Help this church to be willing to do what it takes to do that and help me to know what my part in that is.
