Scripture:
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” ~Hebrews 4:16

Observation:
The preceding verse talks about how, since Jesus was also human and tempted, that He is able to empathize with our struggles and failings.

Application:
How confidently do I approach God? Does even asking that question reveal that I don’t do so very confidently? I suspect that might be the case.

Prayer:
Father, I don’t always feel so confident. Often I feel beat up and defeated by my circumstances and my own shortcomings. I want to stand confidently before You to ask for mercy and grace to help me, but I don’t feel like I have any right to. So, as confidently as I know how, I ask You to help me. Help me against my circumstances and my shortcomings.
