Scripture:
“The Lord said to me, ‘Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.’” ~Hosea 3:1

Observation:
God puts Hosea in His own position. That of a loving man who longs for his unfaithful wife. This is how God is. He loves us and is faithful, yet we are unfaithful. It wasn’t just the Israelites, it’s us too.

Application:
It occurs to me that I should maybe think of sin from God’s perspective. How would I feel if my wife were unfaithful like Hosea’s. I would be devastated. God is saddened when we are unfaithful to Him, yet He is willing to take us back.

Prayer:
Father, forgive me my unfaithfulness, both what I have done and what I will do. I can never express enough thanks for Your willingness to take me back, no matter what. Please send me Your Spirit, that with His help, I might remain faithful to You.
