Scripture:
“Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” Hosea 1:10

Observation:
Israel has greatly angered God. They have turned from Him, so He is preparing to punish them. Yet, at the same time, God states that they will still be able to find forgiveness and be welcomed back into His family. It was true in Hosea’s time and it is even more true now.

Application:
Even though I have angered God in the past, He welcomed me back into His family. Even though we are distant from God, He has made a way for us to come home.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that in Your love, You do not let Your justified anger have the last word. Certainly I deserve Your wrath, yet You will withhold it. Thank you for Your Son who provides the way back into Your family.
