Daily Bible Podcast Day 181 – Amos 7-9, Psalm 104, Titus 2

“Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.” ~Titus 2:6-8

Paul is saying that we in the church should give no one outside the church any way to discredit the gospel because of our behavior.

Am I providing others with excuses they can use against the message? Shouldn’t I be a better reflection of God to those outside who see my actions?

Father, I don’t always act in a way that brings credit to the gospel or in a way that is a reflection of who You are or what You are doing in my life. Help me bring my life in line so that those on the outside won’t be turned away from You because of me. Just the opposite, I hope that others might be attracted to You because of the hope and self-control that I display.
