Daily Bible Podcast Day 169 – 1 Kings 22, 2 Chronicles 18-19, Colossians 4

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” ~Colossians 4:5-6

In the preceding verses, Paul asks for prayer that he be presented with opportunities to proclaim the mystery of Christ and that he would do so clearly. He then encourages the church to make the most of their own opportunities to do so, meaning the highest chance for new believers to be attracted.

Sometimes I get caught up in the attitude of condemning the behavior of outsiders. I should instead be wise about how I act and be graceful toward them. I don’t think first of proclaming the gospel as often as I am thinking about spreading “the rules.”

Father, help me to be mindful that You care more about welcoming new sheep into the fold and much less about correcting the behavior of sheep gone astray. Help me to make the most of the spiritual conversations I have, that hearts would turn to you. May I care less about behavior and more about bringing new brothers and sisters into the body.
