Scripture:
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” ~Ephesians 5:15-17

Observation:
Paul, in addition to warning us against living in darkness and immorality, urges us to live wisely and to understand God’s will.

Application:
Understanding God’s will is both simple and complicated. “Love God and love your neighbor” is simple, but figuring out how that happens in everyday life can be difficult and complicated. Part of my purpose in undertaking this project is to better learn God’s will and how to apply it to my life.

Prayer:
Father, give me Your wisdom and keep me from foolishness. I don’t want Your wisdom just as an intellectual exercise; I want to know how to be wise. That is, act in a consistently wise way. Please keep speaking to me through Your word and writing it on my heart. Help me to make the most of every opportunity by doing what You would have me do.
