Scripture:
“In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.” ~2 Thessalonians 3:6, 11

Observation:
Paul give the admonishment that everyone in the church is to work in order to earn the food they eat. He mentions that this is what he did in order to not be a burden on others.

Application:
Anytime I am spending judging others or gossiping is idle time being a “busybody”. I don’t think that I do this too often, but there are those in the church who are known and celebrated for sticking their nose into business that isn’t theirs, instead of working and doing good.

Prayer:
Father, please keep me away from idleness or anything that would make me a busybody. Help me to do good work and lead others to You by my example. Your Spirit will change the hearts of those You draw to Yourself. Help me to mind my own business.
