Scripture:
“For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.” ~1 Thessalonians 4:7-8

Observation:
This verse follows Paul’s warning against sexual immorality and the taking advantage of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Application:
There are so many impure influences in modern life that it can be hard to even know what is impure or not. I also think there is a difference between occasional lapse into sin and full out rejection of God’s instruction.

Prayer:
Father, please help me to know when an influence on my thoughts or actions is impure. Some of them are obvious, some less so. I do not reject Your instruction in this manner and I repent of any times that I have fallen short of Your standard. Help me to flee from and avoid future temptation as well.
