Daily Bible Podcast Day 128 – 2 Samuel 15-16, Psalm 32, Matthew 25

“‘His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”” ~Matthew 25:21

The servant in question wisely invested the resources his master had entrusted him with. Upon his return, the master rewards the faithful servant with even more resources. Jesus says that the kingdom of heaven will be like this. The money seems to represent all the gifts (money, talent, spiritual gifts) that God gives.

I suspect that I am not using the resources I have been given, either money or gifts, as wisely as the faithful servants in the parable. I’m not irresponsible with money, but am I investing it as I should? Also, I don’t use my gifts and talents as often as I likely could.

Father, I want to be a good and faithful servant. Please show me opportunities to use my gifts and talents to further Your kingdom. Also, help me to manage my money in a way that pleases You; to invest it for Your kingdom, not mine. I want to be able to be trusted with more, and I want You to consider me good and faithful.
