Scripture:
“Many times he delivered them,
but they were bent on rebellion
and they wasted away in their sin.
Yet he took note of their distress
when he heard their cry;
for their sake he remembered his covenant
and out of his great love he relented.
He caused all who held them captive
to show them mercy.” ~Psalm 106:43-46

Observation:
The Psalm specifically discusses the rebelliousness of the Israelites and the consequences of their sin. Still, God heard them when they finally called out to him and showed them mercy.

Application:
God is the same with us. Our rebellion has consequences, but God still hears us when we’ve had enough and cry out to him. I don’t want to wait until I am wasting away to call out to God and turn back to him. I want to always be in obedience.

Prayer:
Father, I know that too many times I don’t turn back to You until I am feeling the pain of some situation I’m in, often my fault. I want to turn to You daily and renounce my rebelliousness. Help me to follow you everyday, not just turn back whenever my rebelliousness has gotten painful for me. Show me mercy God. Hear my cry and remember Your covenant with me in the blood of Jesus.
