Scripture:
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” ~2 Corinthians 12:9

Observation:
Paul has what he calls a “thorn in his flesh.” It isn’t clear to me what exactly this means, if it’s an ailment, or perhaps a persistent temptation, just that he has some issue that God gave him to keep him humble.

Application:
I feel like I have my own thorn. I have trouble turning it over to God’s power. My weaknesses are not exactly something I feel like boasting about, nor am I glad about them. I don’t always remember that God works through our weaknesses either. I have trouble trusting that God can or will give me strength in my weakness.

Prayer:
Father, I want to trust You. I want healing, and I want strength in (and against?) my weakness. Thank You for Your grace. I pray that I’ll remember that it is enough for all the ways that I have fallen short. Keep working in me, that Your strength would show up in my weakness and that Christ’s power might rest on me as well.
