Scripture:
“In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people.” ~2 Corinthians 8:2-4

Observation:
The Macedonian churches showed great generosity to other churches, even though they themselves had little to give.

Application:
I am not very generous in this way. We do some giving, but certainly not what I would call extreme generosity. In no way do we even approach giving “beyond our ability.”

Prayer:
Father, help me loosen my grip on money. Show me where I should be generous and help me to give when I need to. I have real resistance in my heart around this issue. Help soften it.
