Scripture:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” ~2 Corinthians 5:20

Observation:
Jesus is about reconciliation, and He is willing to overlook our sin to do it.

Application:
I need to be more thankful that my sin is not the determining factor in my being reconciled to God. I also need to have Paul’s (and Jesus’) attitude regarding those who aren’t yet right with God. Paul is begging that people reconcile, not judging them or being harsh. He has a soft heart for people to be in proper standing with God.

Prayer:
Father, give me your attitude toward those who are lost. Help me to not judge them or be harsh with them, but implore them, even when they are harsh. I want an attitude that will encourage others to move closer to You. An attitude of love and forgiveness not wrath and judgement. Thank you for the new creation that is available to all in Christ and I ask that you renew it in me each day.
