Daily Bible Podcast Day 091 – Judges 11-12, Psalm 50, 2 Corinthians 1

“I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices
or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
I have no need of a bull from your stall
or of goats from your pens,
for every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know every bird in the mountains,
and the insects in the fields are mine.
If I were hungry I would not tell you,
for the world is mine, and all that is in it.” ~Psalm 50:8-12

God is speaking and He makes it clear that the things we sacrifice aren’t needed by Him. We don’t really have anything other than worship to offer God.

God doesn’t need any of my talents, time, or money to accomplish anything. Yet, He allows me to contribute all 3 and be a part of His redemptive work. Nothing I sacrifice is needed by God. Still, He was willing to sacrifice His Son in order to set things right between us.

Father, I know that I have nothing that You need. My sacrifice is about my heart, not Your need. Help me to keep a loose grip on my time, talent, and money so that my heart will be right. The few meager things that I have are nothing in comparison to the incalculable gift that you gave. May I never forget that.
