Scripture:
“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” ~1 Corinthians 2:4-5

Observation:
Paul didn’t rely on strong arguments or persuasive speech. He merely partnered with God in showing His power.

Application:
How many times, when I am talking to others, do I try to rely on the strength of my argument to persuade them of the truth of the Gospel? It’s not to say that people can’t be convinced with speech, but Paul relies on a demonstration of the Spirit’s power. I wish I knew what it took for the Spirit’s power to manifest.

Prayer:
Father, send Your Spirit. Our words aren’t good enough, but Your power can’t be denied. Have You abandoned us? Why do we seem to have so little power? We want the lost to see Your power and turn to you. Please show us how to recieve Your power once again.
