Scripture:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” ~Galatians 5:22-24

Observation:
Paul is contrasting with the acts of the flesh, which are the opposite of the fruit of the Spirit.

Application:
Sometimes I wonder if my lack of these fruit somehow means I don’t belong to Christ. I display these fruit, just not always, and some more than others. Part of my goal in doing this daily Bible reading is to better understand God’s will and daily surrender to Him.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, my prayer is that more and more I would manifest these fruit. Sometimes I am insecure about whether or not You are working in me when I feel like I am failing to live up to these qualities. Help me to surrender daily and produce the fruit of one who is firmly attached to the Vine.
