Scripture:
“‘Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.'” ~Galatians 1:10

Observation:
Paul makes it clear not only that he is not seeking the approval of people, but that being a servant of Christ is often contrary to pleasing people.

Application:
Who am I trying to please? I don’t think of myself as a people-pleaser, but certainly there are times I hold back in some way in order to not offend others. Sometimes, maybe most of the time, this is a good thing, but I suspect that I am holding back the Gospel for fear of how others will react or perceive me.

Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to unnecessarily offend people, but at the same time I want to please You. Please help me through Your Spirit to know which things would please You for me to say and which would please You to have me not say. Help me to not fear how people will react in situations where I am supposed to share Your word.
