Daily Bible Podcast Day 063 – Numbers 34-36, Mark 11

“Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,

‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’

‘Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!’

‘Hosanna in the highest heaven!'” ~Mark 11:9-10

Jesus comes riding into Jerusalem as prophecy said He would and the people clearly know who he is. Less than a week later, the same people are demanding He be crucified. Despite their worship of Jesus on Sunday, by Thursday they are acting completely contrary.

How many times do I acknowledge Jesus on Sunday only to “betray” Him with sin during the week? Maybe my “betrayal” isn’t a call to have Him put to death, but my sin is the reason that He was crucified, so maybe there’s no difference between my betrayal and that of the inhabitants of Jerusalem at that time.

Holy Spirit, give me the strength to resist betraying the Son in my heart by willfully sinning. I don’t want to just confess Christ on Sundays while going against Him during the week. Help me to live a life more consistent with what I profess.
