Daily Bible Podcast Day 048 – Numbers 1-2, Acts 24

“”We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect and even tried to desecrate the temple; so we seized him. By examining him yourself you will be able to learn the truth about all these charges we are bringing against him.’

The other Jews joined in the accusation, asserting that these things were true.” ~Acts 24:5-9

The High Priest and his cronies are basically falsely accusing Paul before the legal authorities. Paul is happy to give a defense, but this chapter ends with Paul basically being forgotten in prison for 2 years. However, all these things are moving Paul toward Rome, which is where God intends to send him.

It could very well be that, like Paul, I would have to face hardship on my way to where God wants me to be. I likely won’t be falsely accused and imprisoned, but it’s possible. The lesson of this chapter is that some hardship might be necessary in order to arrive at God’s destination for me.

Father, no matter what difficulties I face, I pray that I’ll always be headed the direction You would have me go. Even if it doesn’t seem like I’m moving forward, as when Paul sat in prison. Help me to be patient and keep the end in mind.
