Scripture:
“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.
“I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country.” ~Leviticus 26:3-6

Observation:
God is making a promise to the Israelites to bless them with success and security if they keep His commands.

Application:
I know that, as Christians, we don’t exactly fall under the Old Testament Law any longer, but I wonder how much this promise still holds. Does God continue to bless the lands of those that are obedient to him. Does that necessarily mean that lands that are blessed are following His command and those that face hardship are not?

Prayer:
Father, bless us your followers as we obey you. May our hard times serve as reminders to reflect on whether we are in obedience. May I count my blessings, even if it seems I have few, and view them as gifts from You.
