Daily Bible Podcast Day 044 – Leviticus 20-22, Acts 20

December 14, 2012 in Podcasts by Nathan

“‘And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again.'” ~ Acts 20:22-25

Paul is the man. He doesn’t know what’s going to happen, but he knows prison is involved. He knows his life is in danger and he will never see his friends again. All the same, he goes.

I wish I had Paul’s courage. I also wish the Spirit spoke to me as clearly as it spoke to Paul. Would I be willing to face prison or death for the sake of Jesus? I’d like to think so, but I just don’t know.

Holy Spirit, give me the courage and conviction of Paul. Strengthen me to do whatever it is You want, whatever it costs me.
