Daily Bible Podcast Day 041 – Leviticus 13-14, Acts 17

“Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: ‘People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.'” ~Acts 17:22-23

Paul spends time in Athens observing the intellectual climate. He starts trying to convince them by finding something they already believe in that he can start his case with.

Every now and then I’ll have a conversation with someone who is not a Christian and I try to convince them to become one. How often do I take the time to learn what they already believe as a starting point?

Father, give me the wisdom of Paul. He listened and asked so that he would know where to start making his case. Help me to do the same.
