Scripture:
“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.” ~1 Peter 2:15

Observation:
Foolish people have only bad things to say about Christ, Christians, and the church. By doing good, we take away any validation these people might have. Our good deeds would basically force them to keep their mouths shut. Unfortunately, we have not done such a good job of this and have even provided our critics with ammo to use against us.

Application:
In my own life, my good deeds can serve to silence those who oppose Christ and even offer a form of proof about faith in Christ.

Prayer:
Father, help me to bring glory to Your Son by my good deeds. How many are held back from faith by foolishness or the talk of the foolish? May I no longer provide them with “verification” of their negative beliefs, but may my obedience in good works take away their arguments and force them to confront You honestly.
