Daily Bible Podcast Day 347 – Hebrews 9-11

October 13, 2013 in Podcasts by Nathan

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” ~Hebrews 10:23-25

Paul encourages the reader to spend some time thinking about how believers are to encourage one another to love and good deeds. Many times in the church, we spend very little time thinking about doing this. Love and good deeds are what “bought” the early church goodwill, which led to conversions. Could the lack of new Christians in our churches have something to do with this?

How will this verse affect what I do and say on Sunday morning? How am I going to encourage others to love and good deeds? How am I going to cajole myself?

Father, I have a small role in a local church. Help me to goad my fellow believers on to love and good works. Help me to set a good example in this as well. Grow Your church as we serve and love others.
