Scripture:
“Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.” ~Hebrews 4:1-2

Observation:
Paul seems to be saying that those who are disobedient do not have the faith of those who are. I can’t decide if it seems to call into question the salvation of those who are disobedient.

Application:
Passages like this scare me. I am sometimes obedient, but sometimes not. I worry that my disobedience might cause me to fall short of God’s promises.

Prayer:
Father, help me to obey. It isn’t always easy and I can’t do it on my own. My nature makes that impossible. But with You, nothing is impossible. I don’t want to be disqualified because of disobedience. Help me to obey. Holy Spirit, invade my life and drive out any impulse toward disobedience.
