Scripture:
“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” ~1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Observation:
The people in the church in Corinth were many things before coming to faith in Christ. Paul makes the point that is what they were. As, no longer are. Jesus is able not only to change the lives of those who come to Him, but also to justify them before God, in spite of their former lives.

Application:
Not only does this mean that all of my failings are forgivable and forgiven, but also that I should never condemn those who aren’t believers. Paul lists some grave sins, but none of them are beyond Jesus’ ability to erase.

Prayer:
Father, I am sometimes judgmental of those who lead immoral lives. Remind me constantly that these also are just people in need of Jesus’ sacrifice and You forgiveness. Instead of condemning, help me to invite them into relationship with You through Jesus. I am formerly a person in need of justification, use me to help You justify even more.
