Scripture:
“Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty.” ~Job 6:14

Observation:
Job is calling out his “friends,” who are in the process of telling him that God must be punishing him for his sins. Job rejects this idea and complains that they aren’t being very good friends by accusing him of unrighteousness.

Application:
Job is saying that those who fear God are kind to their friends. Jesus even says that those who fear God are kind to their enemies, but do I withhold kindness from my friends? Are there ways I could be better serving them?

Prayer:
Father, I don’t feel like I have any really close friends. Help me to be kind and to nurture those friendships. I know that I am not supposed to go through life without others to encourage and support me. Help me to find those people.
