Scripture:
“Blessed is the one whom God corrects;
so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.” ~Job 5:17

Observation:
The chapter goes on to state how God will protect the one He corrects, from famine, sword, ridicule, destruction, and even wild animals. The blessings include a secure house, property, many children, and long life.

Application:
There are times I can point to where I believe God was disciplining me. I continue to pray that His discipline takes hold and that I do not ignore it.

Prayer:
Father, I want all of those things. I want Your blessing. Please help me to not ignore or avoid Your correction. Help me to recognize my failings before they become trouble and to heed Your words, so that my family and I might be blessed in whatever ways You see fit to bless us.
