Scripture:
“Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.” ~Psalm 146:3-5

Observation:
The Psalmist makes a brutal observation. No matter who the person is, when they die, all their plans die with them.

Application:
What plans am I trusting in? I don’t think I’m guilty of trusting in human “princes” but I do have my own plans. This Psalm is a reminder to place my trust in God and look to Him for help.

Prayer:
Father, I have plans that I’m working on. Help me not to trust them, but to place my hope and trust in You. I’ll continue to prayerfully make plans and trust You to guide me in Your will. Help me and bless me as I put my trust in You.
